2 thieves from Tamil Nadu held, 25 bikes found

The team got a tipoff on the movement of the accused recently, and arrested them.

Bengaluru: The Parappana Agrahara police arrested two bike thieves, who lifted two-wheelers to lead a lavish life. 25 motorbikes worth Rs 15 lakh were recovered from them.

The accused, Narayan, 27, and Prabhakaran, 31, are both from Tamil Nadu.

The police said that as the number of bike thefts had increased in the Southeast division, a special team had been formed to arrest the accused. The team got a tipoff on the movement of the accused recently, and arrested them.

With their arrest, the police solved 20 bike thefts cases in Parappana Agrahara, Hulimavu, HSR Layout, Mico Layout, Electronic City, Bommanahalli and Bellandur police limits. The police have traced the owners of 20 bikes and are still trying to find the others.

The police said that the two accused had been previously booked in theft cases in Tamil Nadu.
