Kurnool: The Nandyal police on Wednesday placed former Andhra Pradesh minister Bhuma Akhila Priya her husband Bhargava Ram under arrest in connection with a clash occurred on Tuesday night. Police registered case against them under section 307 of the IPC, and they have been taken to the Panyam police station. AV Subba Reddy, former chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Minor Irrigation Project filed a complaint against the TD leader and her husband.
The clash took place between the groups led by Bhuma Akhila Priya and AV Subba Reddy at Kothapalli village in Nandyal mandal. The altercation occurred during Lokesh’s Yuva Galam padayatra when both groups organized separate programmes to welcome the yatra. Subba Reddy sustained minor injuries to his nose during the clash.
Akhila Priya and her followers were actively involved in the altercation, which escalated as objects were thrown followed by heated arguments. The situation remained tense for nearly half an hour until the police intervened. Despite the police dispersing both groups and implementing heightened surveillance in the area, tense atmosphere persisted.
