Both business and individuals need to think about water in the way that many think about other finite resources.

Water crisis is an alarming global movement. Both business and individuals need to think about water in the way that many think about other finite resources. We play a vital role in contributing towards creating a sustainable environment and we can do that easily by starting at our homes. By identifying top water wasters at home like showers, washing hands, cooking, etc. you can take accurate measures to play your part in saving the environment.

Bathrooms in our homes consume copious amounts of water. You can use eco-friendly products to design your environment-friendly bathroom to ensure direct savings on your water bills and an assurance that you are not misusing mother earth. Here are some tips to keep in mind while designing:

Star-rated products: Just like electronics have star ratings, modern water closets and faucets are available with ratings basis their water saving capabilities. On an average thesewater closets can save over 65,000 liters of water every year per household as compared to a standard 10 liters flushing water closet. Moreover, the star rated faucets use up to 50% less water as compared to a regular faucet.

Reduced water pressure: A notable amount of water can be saved by reducing water pressure as the flow of water in your faucets and showers can be minimizedby installing high quality pressure regulators.

Integrate technology with bathrooms: Sensor faucets are usually designed with a low flow rate. For instance, while traditional basin taps pour between 10 and 15 liters per minute, sensor taps will not use more than 6 liters. Also, you never have to worry about water wastage resulting from leaving the faucet open, especially when children are around.

Apart from these, there are multiple choices which can contribute to an environmentally-conscious bathroom such as LED lighting, terracotta tiles, instant water heaters and water efficient shower-heads. Why waste water when you can save it by making smart choices!
