Grieving mother's message to dead daughter's drug dealer goes viral

It's important to understand that the consequences of drug addiction hurt even the families of the addicts.

Drug addiction has the power to destroy not only the lives of the addicts themselves but also tear apart their loved ones. That’s why Tina Louden decided to show to the world the extent of the damage inflicted on families as a result of the drug trade by writing an open letter to her deceased daughter Ashley N. Shannon’s drug dealer.

On August 15th, what would have been Ashley’s 28th birthday, Tina clicked a photo of herself clutching the urn that contained her daughter’s ashes. “To my daughter’s drug dealer,” she wrote, “this is how I spend my daughter’s birthday now.” She ended the post with a plea to make it go viral so that “all the drug dealers see what they are doing to our families.”

Her heartbreaking post has been shared more than 87,000 times and struck an emotional chord with many families dealing with drug addiction.
