Now a breastfeeding Barbie to help kids learn about motherhood
She is called the Mamas Worldwide Barbie.
A mother-of-two in Australia has been creating nursing dolls so that children are able to understand breastfeeding in a better way. Betty Strachan from Brisbane has turned her hobby of repainting dolls into a business. She offers her dolls for sale on the Etsy shop website.
Betty was inspired by a mothers’ group that she was also a member of which led to the creation of her latest doll called Mamas Worldwide Barbie. She offers breastfeeding as well as pregnant Barbies for sale.
She says that educating children about issues that “society deems unacceptable” is the right way to erase the taboo surrounding them, reports Huffington Post.
