Adilabad: The temple town of Bhadrachalam, home to the famous Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam, will see a Shobha Yatra on January 22, to celebrate the pran prathistha ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Massive saffron flags, numbering about 500, with 'Jai Sri Ram' inscribed on them will be displayed.
Priests will conduct Suvarna Pushparchana at the temple from 7 am to 7.30 am after which the Shobha Yatra will be taken out. Cultural troupes will perform during the event.
This will be followed by the Sankshepa Ramayana Havanam from 10 am to 11 am. There will be Sundarayakanda Parayanam 4 pm to 4.30 pm. Deepostavam will be organized at the temple at around 5.30 pm, according to L. Rama Devi, executive officer of the Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple.
The temple town has been energised ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at Ayodhya. Hindu and civil society organisations are involving the people in special programmes.
Ramesh Sowmithri of the Ramdasu Mandir in Nelakondapalli told Deccan Chronicle that they would organise Hanuman Chalisa Parayana 21 times from 8.30 am on the day. Ramadasu and Annamayyachary keertanas praising Lord Rama will be sung.
Collector V.P. Gautham visited the Bhakta Ramadasa Dhyana Mandir in Nelakondapalli and reviewed the programmes to be taken up on occasion. The 391st jayanti of Ramadasa, one of Lord Rama’s most fervent devotees who built the Bhadrachalam temple at great risk to himself, will be held on February 12, 13 and 14. Devotional and cultural programmes have been planned for the occasion.
Congress MLA Kokkirala Premsagar Rao said he would organising a Sri Ramayana Mahayagam in Mancherial from January 20 to 22 for world peace, alongside the Ayodhya temple consecration. Bhajan programmes will be held every evening for three days.
