Here's how much sex you should have

Researcher says that not sex drive, but rather age and a lot of social factors determine how much sex a person engages in.

Do you know how much sex is good for you? Well a new study says that the number depends on a number of factors, including age, health, and sex drive and relationship status.

The study, conducted by the Kinsey Institute for research in Sex, Reproduction and Gender suggests age can predict how often a person has sex.

It turns out, quite unsurprisingly, that 18-29-year-olds get busy between the sheets at an average of 112 times per year while those aged 30 to 39 have sex about 86 times a year (which is about once a week) and those aged 40 to 49 only have sex around 69 times a year.

It turns out that as people age, the frequency of sex drops. However, it does not mean that their sex drive has dropped and there could be a number of factors from life stresses, family obligations and physical challenges that contribute to it.

Feelings play a major part as well as age can make a person feel less sexy.

According to Dr Justin Lehmiller, age increases odds of developing chronic health conditions, which in turn, negatively impacts frequency and quality of sex life.

Some research has found that married couples who have more sex tend to be happier, while other research has found that people who report having frequent sex do not tend to be any happier.
