Experts tell how long sex should last for a woman's maximum pleasure

Several studies are trying to decode the way to being good in bed by giving maximum pleasure to one's partner.

With an increase in platforms for meeting new people and finding dates online, people are becoming more aware of their sexuality and are also understanding their individual needs.

As couples are seeking to have better sex lives, several studies are trying to decode the way to being good in bed by giving maximum pleasure to one’s partner.

Lasting long in bed is known for being very effective for giving pleasure for women, and now some studies claim to have figured out what women want. A study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine said that median length of intercourse was 5.4 minutes, while some place it at 7.5 minutes.

An earlier study in the Journal of Sex Research mentioned that participants liked 11 to 13 minutes of foreplay and 7 to 8 minutes of intercourse. Meanwhile therapist Ian Kerner says that a secret to longer sex is foreplay.

He told SELF magazine "I always encourage couples to engage in as much outercourse as possible before intercourse. The more outercourse you engage in, hopefully the higher your level of arousal and the closer you get to orgasm."
