Treasure' that chest!

If those long hours at gym are not offering you the desired results, in terms of an enviable chest, here are treatments to consider for men.

Chest reshaping is a procedure to improve the shape, symmetry and form of a chest in both males and females. It’s done for both medical and cosmetic reasons.

Adonis sculpting is the most demanded breast correction treatment among men. Many athletic men and gym-goers are unable to define their chest in spite of spending long hours in the gym.

They may have perfect abs, perfect arms and perfect thighs, but the chest muscle does not respond to exercise. Often, genetic fat deposition, in some parts of chest, hides the muscle definition.

Adonis sculpting is conducted by 4D liposculpting — a technique, where the plastic surgeon removes fat from around the chest muscle. Using advanced technologies to tighten the skin and redefine the chest muscle by transposing the fat. The cost depends on the quality of the anaesthesia. The charges also depend on the severity of the issue and the expertise of the doctor.

In men, there may also be an absence of one-sided chest muscles and nipple which is called as Poland syndrome. In rare cases, both sides of the chest may be missing.

Another issue with a very high incidence is men suffering from gynecomastia — a condition where men develop feminine breast glands. The prevalence of gynecomastia is 60 per cent to 90 per cent in neonates, 50 per cent to 60 per cent in adolescents, and up to 70 per cent in men aged between 50 to 69 years according to popular reports.

Gynecomastia is a safe and simple procedure. The treatment is a short procedure under local anaesthesia using ultrasonic device, where a small key hole is used to remove the glands. Many men have a large chest due to fat accumulation, which is embarrassing. They can improve their appearance by high definition liposuction using ultrasonic or laser devices. The sessions required are entirely based on the severity of the issue.

Specialised corrective chestclinics offer complete evaluation of chest problems to both men and women. There may be blood examinations to identify hormonal problems or radiological tests like MRI for a complete assessment. Based on the problem, the plastic surgeon will follow international guidelines while he opts for reconstructive options.
