For the longest time, a degree from a reputed B-school was synonymous with a lucrative corporate gig. But 26-year-old city-based Abhishek Kaushal’s entrepreneurial tryst paints a different picture — his recently devised health app, E-coach, is garnering all the attention, and with good reason.
Post his recent feat as the only Bengalurean who was awarded the Telenor Youth Forum’ 15 India Edition gold; the city-based youngster was also chosen to present his venture at the Telenor Youth Forum ’16 — Asia Edition in Bangkok on May 25 and 26. He was also offered a fully sponsored trip to Europe. In a freewheeling interview, he tells us more...
“Right after my post graduation, I landed a fairly decent job. While I took it up, I realised a stable desk job was not my calling. Hence, I quit to start-up early in October last year. I got an alma mater to join in, and we decided that our venture would be something along the lines of healthcare.
And that’s how Blue Morfo, an Airbus global accelerated health mode start-up into preventive healthcare began,” pipes the 26-year-old IIM graduate, who was conferred the title of student entrepreneur India by Tata first dot and National entrepreneurship network in the year 2013.
Taking into consideration the current health scenario in the country, the youngster reiterates the need for awareness. “While we’re undoubtedly a savvy generation, a large number of us overlook major health issues And that’s exactly what we’re trying to focus on through this app, which aims to be one of the easiest methods to identify people who’re at the risk of contracting diabetes and then devise custom made techniques to bring them to a healthier track,” he says.
Despite having quite a lot in his plate at present, Abhishek quips about how there’s always time for play. “I’m more of an indoors person. I always make it a point to take some time off and unwind in activities I love — and that includes exploring different cuisines and eateries in the city.
I enjoy solitude and sitting by the Ulsoor lake and just relaxing. Other than that, I’m either checking out at different places or attending creative workshops,” reveals the entrepreneur who calls himself a ‘homebody’.
Speaking about his preparations for the forthcoming Youth Forum, he promptly concludes by stating, “ Well, no matter how cliched it may sound, the truth is, I’m unperturbed by the results. The idea is to be armed with factually rich research. For now, I’m looking at looking at brainstorming with as many people as possible.
I hope the app from our venture hopes to build a connect. Since there are about 28 delegates from 14 different countries, I look forward to making the most of the experience!”
