According to the findings of the report 'The Burden of Neurological Disorders Across Indian States: The Global Burden of Disease Study 1990–2019,' headache disorders, including both migraine and tension-type headaches, arose as the leading neurological disorders in India in 2019. These conditions affected over 488 million people across the country, highlighting the substantial impact of these disorders on the population's health.

This clearly shows that migraines are more common than we may think, affecting a significant portion of the global population. According to a recent meta-analysis of over 357 publications, the prevalence rate of migraines stood at 14% in 2022, and this rate has been steadily increasing over the past three decades.
