Sampath Tummala elected as NRAI Hyderabad chapter head

Hyderabad: National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), Hyderabad chapter, elected Sampath Tummala of The Spicy Venue, as the chapter head. He succeeds Shankar Krishnamurthy (Fusion Hospitality).

Restaurant industry was the third largest sector after agriculture and construction fields. It is pegged at over Rs 4.28 lakh crore. Hyderabad accounts for Rs 6,000 crore and about Rs 1,500 crore comes from the organised sector and the remaining from the unorganised sector, said Tummala.

“Our objective is to convert the food and beverages industry into an organised sector. NRAI is in discussion with some colleges to launch programmes to skill youth for the industry,” he said.

The other office bearers for 2023-25 are Sandeep Balasubramanian (Hashi-Clipper Foods India) as co-chapter head, Kavitha Mantha (Sage Farm Cafe - Green Organics) secretary, Ketan Agarwal (Fat Pigeon-Taste Budders) treasurer, and Faisa J Tayabali (Euphoria Bakers) as joint secretary.

The newly elected managing committee members are Pranay Reddy (10 Downing Street), Suma C (Sensei Gourmet), Sarita (Sarkar's Kitchen), N Sriram (Srikanya Parcels and Restaurant), Jiten Lalwani (Sind Bake), Yash Trivedi (LOTD - First Fiddle F&B), Shravan Juvvadi (Tabula Rasa), and Ronak Singhi (Singhi Holdings - Jalpaan / By the Bottle), according to a release.
