Amzath to romance Anjali in Sarvesh's 'Kaanbadhu Poi'

Amzath Khan, who was last seen in the Nayanthara-starrer Maya, is busy with his next film titled Kaanbadhu Poi, directed by debutant Sarvesh. This time, he’s paired opposite Anjali. Speaking about the film, he says, “It’s a bold woman-centric action thriller in which I play a guy who studies abroad and meets a girl with an independent personality. Mine is a romantic, boy-next-door character and the film is about how strong a woman can be during the tough times in life.”

Amzath believes that since acting has more to do with possibilities, he has been challenging himself to take on newer possibilities. “I am more conscious about the work I want to do and how I am known — I want to be recognised as an actor,” he smiles. So, what kinds of roles does he want to play? “I want to work with good directors who can experiment with me in both positive and negative roles, and push boundaries. I want to do varied roles. I take time to prepare for each role,” he tells us.

“I think actors who keep reinventing themselves automatically, last longer because every viewer wants something different each time they look at the screen. I want to do meaty, exciting and completely different characters that will allow me to explore my depths as an actor,” he concludes.
