APSSDC launches Innovation on Wheels programme for students

Adviser to state government Sajjala Ramakrishna said AP focused on high-end skilling activity for all engineering students this year

VIJAYAWADA: The Indo Euro Synchronization (IES) in association with APSSDC, FESTO Expotainer launched the Innovation on Wheels programme at Acharya Nagarjuna University on Tuesday.

Adviser to state government on public affairs, Sajjala Ramakrishna, said AP focused on high-end skilling activity for all engineering students this year, with stress on emerging technologies like robotics, smart manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Data sciences & e-mobility.

He praised the unique German methodology of project-based learning, now being implemented at the Applied Robotics Control Centres (ARC) across the state.

Challa Madhusudhan Reddy, adviser to state government, said APSSDC is developing a unique ecosystem and imparting best of the best skills for engineering students in the state in order to make them industry-ready.

APSSDC MD Satyanarayana said German Knowledge partners and Indian Industry partners are invited to hand-hold and support this initiative. Some 20 best universities/colleges are being made a part of this initiative to impact skills for 10000 students in the coming years. The cycle consisted of 1500 students drawn from 15 universities/colleges participating in this initiative, he said.

IES president and MD Raj Vangapandu said the company is imparting new-age skills to students by setting up the Advanced Emerging Technologies clusters in AP.

Prof Rajasekhar Patteti, VC- ANU, exchanged MOU with APSSDC–IES. Dr. B Karuna, registrar, ANU; Prof Varaprasada Murthy, rector, ANU; Edara Srinivas, principal, ANU; the APSSDC team and 40 college managements and decision-makers as also students participated in the event.
