Hyderabad: The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, held on Monday, failed to resolve the stalemate, continuing the deadlock on the debate on Telangana Bill.
The BAC meeting ended abruptly without any decision. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu did not attend the crucial meeting though they were present in their respective chambers in the Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar made it clear to the TD members that the President has sent the Bill to Assembly for its views, he cannot return the Bill to him.
Manohar had called the BAC meeting to resolve the stalemate. The first session of the meeting lasted for three hours with TD members expressing diverse opinions.
Telangana TD members Errabelli Dayakar Rao and M. Narasimhulu said the debate must continue in the House, while Seemandhra TD member Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu asked the Speaker to return the Bill to the President.
Another TD member from Seemandhra P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju said they will participate in the debate if the state government will provide some clarity to which finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said that Raju can get all the information from the state government website.
YSRC members were adamant that they will not allow debate on the Telangana Bill in the House unless it passes a resolution in favour of united Andhra Pradesh.
The one-hour second session ended when Muddukrishnama Naidu asked the Speaker to return the Telangana Bill to the President and walked out from the meeting.
Following which members began leaving without any decision being taken.
