Ram Gopal Varma’s film Vangaveeti, based on the gang wars in Vijayawada a few decades back, is now up for release. The film is all set to hit screens on December 23 and the director is planning to release the music in his hometown, Vijayawada. RGV is excited that his dream project, to make a film on the gang wars that he witnessed during his college days, has finally come together. “Vangaveeti is my dream project, dealing with politics and rowdy gang cultures of Vijayawada. Some of the scenes are very realistic, as I witnessed these events personally,” says RGV.
Dasari Kiran Kumar is producing this film and many politicians and film celebrities are going to attend the music launch. “It’s going to be a public event with the organisers expecting a crowd of around 20-30 thousand,” says a source. Ram Gopal Varma always finds the perfect individuals to play his characters and this film is no exception. Sandeep, a small time actor, is playing the lead of Vangaveeti Ranga and Vamsi of Happy Days fame is playing the role of Devineni Murali.
