Ace choreographer-turned-actor Raghava Lawrence has reportedly pocketed Rs 30 crores for his dual role in his latest release “Chandramukhi 2’ since his stocks have been soaring over the years in Tamil film industry. “Lawrence is one among the popular heroes in Tamil and has jacked up his price. He has drawn Rs 30 crore since this was a big budget spooky flick being released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam in a big way,” says a source from Chennai.
Actually, Lawrence who choreographed songs for megastar Chiranjeevi in films like “Hitler’, “Mutta Mestri’ and ‘Tagore’ and carved a niche for himself in Tollywood. Later, he turned actor and director with Telugu film ‘Style’. He also directed Telugu stars like Nagarjuna and delivered hit movies like ‘Mass’ and ‘Don. He also collaborated with superstar Prabhas for a Telugu film ‘Rebel’ but it didn’t do well as expected.
Meanwhile, he became a popular actor and director in Kollywood and delivered hits like ‘Muni’ and ‘Kanchana’ and scaled new heights with horror thrillers, “Lawrence is also doing films with other directors and moving up the commercial ladder,’ he concludes. No doubt, with his new pay check, he has joined the elite list of Tamil stars like Karthi, Vishal and Vikram in Kollywood.
