Ravi Teja sticks to Rs 25 cr pay, film put on hold?

Despite two flops like ‘Ravanasura’ and ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao', seasoned star Ravi Teja is unwilling to take a pay cut for his upcoming film with director Gopichand Mallineni. “Ravi Teja was demanding Rs 25 crores counting on his charisma and popularity. He knew that his combination with Gopichand Malineni would be a surefire winner so he didn’t want to revise his remuneration, but producers are seeking a pay cut and negotiations are underway,” says a source.

For the last two days, the news about Ravi Teja-Gopichand being put on hold has been making rounds. “Ravi Tej and Gopichand delivered big hits like ‘Don Seenu’, ‘Balupu’ and 'Krack' to be hailed as a heady combination. Mythri Movie Makers even made a grand announcement last month about their big movie but now it will take some more time for the action film to go on floors,” adds the source.

The source further adds, “The producers believe the film’s budget does not align with the current market conditions, especially in non-theatrical and Hindi markets. They decided to stall indefinitely and take a cautious approach while funding their project, state sources.

It remains to be seen whether Ravi Teja will reduce his salary or will go ahead with another new film with director Harris Shankar.
