Mammootty, Jyothika on Review Bombing Concerns at Kaathal The Core Press Meet

Mammootty, Jyothika, and director Jeo Baby recently held a press meeting for their upcoming movie "Kaathal-The Core," slated for release on November 23. During the press interaction, Mammootty and Jeo Baby shared their thoughts on the prevalent culture of review bombing, a topic that has been criticized by many in the Mollywood film industry.

Responding to a query about the impact of reviews on a film's fate in theaters, Mammootty emphasized, "A movie can’t fail over a review. A review is based on the perspective of the reviewer because stopping reviews wouldn’t save cinema either." He urged audiences to form their own opinions and not be swayed by others.

Director Jeo Baby chimed in, expressing concern about the trend of youngsters reviewing films and other content on social media without much thought. Mammootty brushed off the issue, stating, "Let them do whatever they want to do, why are we bothered about it?"

As for their film "Kaathal-The Core," leaked information suggests it's a Malayalam drama set in a Kottayam village, focusing on Mathew Devassy (Mammootty) and his wife Omana (Jyothika). The storyline delves into societal attitudes towards homosexuality, depicting Mathew's challenges when he decides to enter local Panchayat elections, countered by Omana filing for divorce, alleging his homosexuality.

Mammootty's upcoming projects include the action-comedy "Turbo" with director Vysakh, the horror movie "Bramayugam," and the action film "Bazooka." "Kaathal-The Core" is anticipated to tackle relevant social issues, adding to the actor's diverse filmography.
