Anasuya's Malayalam debut with Mammootty

Actress Anasuya is all set to foray into Malayalam with the film 'Bheeshma Parvam', starring Mammootty

Actress Anasuya Bharadwaj couldn’t be more excited about her debut, which will be with superstar Mammootty. Incidentally, the actress had done an extended, impactful cameo in the 2019-Mammootty-starrer political drama, Yatra. And we are told, Bheeshma Parvam’s director Amal Neerad decided to take Anasuya for the role in the Malayalam film after seeing her impactful performance in Yatra.

Excited about debuting in Malayalam

Anasuya doesn’t hold back regarding how she feels about working in the Malayalam film. “I am super excited to be foraying into Malayalam,” she says, adding that she can’t wait to work with Mammootty again after Yatra in which the two actors shared the screen. The actress adds that working with Mammootty has been an amazing experience and states that she’d soon pick up the language for her part. “I will soon do workshops for the role and commence shoot in April,” Anasuya tells us.

Not keen on special numbers

In the meanwhile, the stills of Anasuya performing a special number, Dappu, from the film Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, have been released. While admitting she did the song for choreographer Jaani master, the actress maintains that she’s not keen on doing special numbers.

“I have been working with him [Jaani master] for over several years in TV, so I know him well. When he initially approached me for this special song, I told him that I was not keen,’ explains the actress. “But Jaani master insisted that I listen to the song. And I was impressed with the lyrics and its melody and instantly told him that I was on board. The song’s an unpredictable mass number.”

Striking a balance

The actress has been selective in her approach when it comes to choosing scripts. While she is doing films on one side, Anasuya is also upping her glam quotient on the small screen.

“Yes, it’s a conscious effort to strike a balance between both the industries. You need not necessarily choose special songs and films to look glamorous; you can be glamorous with your performance too. That’s why I am picking up only performance-oriented roles in cinema and experimenting with glamor in the TV,” she explains.

Seeking to be known as a performer

Anasuya tells us that she wants to be remembered for good roles. “That’s the reason I am very choosy; moreover, my character has to be convincing enough to impress the audience,” the actress shares.
