Sports fever seems to be gripping Tollywood these days, with a slew of films being made against a sports backdrop! After Vijay Deverakonda and Nani’s film, the latest is that Naga Chaitanya will be playing a cricketer in his forthcoming film directed by Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori fame. Interestingly, this would be the first time Chay would be seen in such a role.
While the actor has earlier played romantic and action-oriented roles, his role in director Shiva Nirvana’s film will be a welcome break. In fact, it was the characterisation that prompted Chay to give a go-ahead to the project. A source in the know says, “Chay loves cricket and relishes playing roles that are based on cricket. So when he eventually got one, that too with an interesting portrayal, he did not look back.”
Samantha is paired opposite Chay in the family drama which will go on the floors soon.
