Popular anchor and actress Anasuya Bharadwaj, who has a good fan-following on social media platforms, had found success on small screen as well as in the few films she’s acted in, like Kshanam and Rangasthalam.
However, her popularity has not helped save her recent release Kathanam, in which she plays the central role. Despite expectations, the film hasn’t got a good opening. And it looks like things might get dirty!
“The actress charged high remuneration for this film and the makers expected some good openings, but they are disappointed to see the film’s fate,” says a source from the unit.
However, the source also tells us that Anasuya is as disappointed as the filmmakers, but she blames the director for the film’s failure. “She’s apparently also told her friends that she had promoted the film and did her part well,” adds the source.
Given the circumstances and the result of her latest release, makers of her newly signed film, in which she is also set to play the lead, are understandably nervous.
