Ravi Teja's Raja the Great Sequel on Cards?

If reliable sources are to be believed, Tollywood Mass Maharaja star Ravi Teja and director Anil Ravipudi, are all set to reunite to deliver another laugh-riot, a sequel to their earlier blockbuster film ‘Raja the Great’ very soon.

“Ravi Teja and Anil had a few discussions about dishing out a sequel. They are looking to join hands since their film has enough potential for a sequel and it can happen soon,” said a source, who claims that it would be much bigger and better than the original.

“The story of a blind and fearless fighter(Ravi Teja) who protects a key witness (Mehreen) in a murder case by decimating the villains despite his handicap, will be given another mission this time,” he adds.

The action film was packed with loads of comedy, like all of Anil Ravipudi’s films. Even the second part will have humourous scenes and romance to make it a perfect commercial entertainer, he adds.

With sequels like 'Drishyam 2," and "Hit 2' turning out to be money-spinners, and with "Bimbisara 2' set to go on floors soon, it seems to be the season of sequels in Tollywood these days. "Sequels have a brand value and if you find the right script for the second part, then it would be a safe bet. With big stars unable to get fresh content, it is better to lean back on sequels to draw in openings and enthuse their fans," he concludes.
