Hanu Man clocks Rs 16 crores in AP,TS; set for long run

Despite lesser number of theatres, the socio fantasy is attracting families in big numbers

The much-hyped ‘Hanu Man’ registered sensational openings in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to prove that good content is on par with superstars. Despite being screened in lesser number of theatres, the socio fantasy riding on Lord Hanuman factor has garnered Rs 16 crores plus net collections in two Telugu states. “It collected net collections of Rs 5.84 crores on day one, followed by Rs 8.40 crores on day two and Rs 2.40 till now on Sunday and in total Rs 16 crores which would work out to Rs 26 crores gross collections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana” says a distributor.

Even though, Dil Raju is refusing to give more theatres to ‘Hanu Man’ and even ignoring the agreements between distributors and exhibitors in Telangana since he wants to continue with ‘Guntur Kaaram'. “Dil Raju is not willing to give up theatres in Telanganga and doesn’t mind the agreements between exhibitors and distributors of Hanu Man. He wants to make as much money as possible for ‘Guntur Kaaram’ during next two festival days,” he adds

Nonetheless, new-age director Prashanth Varma has proved that he could pull in audience with a young actor since he believed in ‘Hanuman factor’ and it is paying him rich dividends. “Hanu Man is set for a long run in Telugu states since other films are carrying mixed reports and it is going to be Prashanth Varma’s show from next week onwards,” he concludes.
