The budget for the much hyped movie featuring Superstar Mahesh Babu, Guntur Kaaram has reportedly crossed 150 cr budget, highest in the actor's career. "It has gone over budget a bit since director Trivikram Srinivas didn't want to compromise on any aspect of the film," says a source. Top producer Radhakrishna is also pumping in money with confidence in the project.
Replacing Pooja Hegde with Sreeleela has resulted in some reshoots and also designing slam bang action sequences and richly mounted songs in picturesque foreign locales. Now, they have to shoot key scenes with Mahesh Babu and second heroine Meenakshi Choudhary to make it a wholesome entertainer, he adds.
The Mahesh-Trivikram combo had seen huge success with Athadu, but couldn't repeat their magic in Khaleja which didn't fare well at the box office. "Despite a delay in shootings and few changes in crew like changing cinematographer, Trivikram is unfazed and determined to deliver a blockbuster movie. With Guntur Kaaram slated for release during Sankranti festival next January they are bound to recover their huge cost, he concludes.
It's not uncommon for Telugu movie budgets to go over the pre-planned amount in the recent days.
