Pretty actress Mehreen Pirzada who shared acting honours with Tollywood stars like Ravi Teja (Raja The Great), Nani (Krishna Gadi Prema Gadha) and Varun Tej in ‘F2’ , is now playing love interest to new hero Vikranth in her next film 'Spark'. “Mehreen is taking a chance of sorts with her career. Working with a new face, amidst doing films with big stars, is kind of a gamble, " says a source and adds, "The film should be a sensational hit, otherwise it could turn risky for her happening career. These days, Telugu audiences are shunning movies of new heroes in big way, barring a few."
Actually, Mehreen was a name to reckon in Telugu filmdom after money-spinners like ‘Mahanubhavudu’ and she also shared screen space with Tamil star Dhanush in ‘Pattas’. “Later, she had some issues with the producer of ‘Ashwathama’ featuring Naga Shaurya regarding some pending bills in a star hotel. Adding to her woes, duds like ‘Chanakya’ and ‘Entha Manchivadavura’ dented her ratings in Tollywood,” adds the source.
She also did some Tamil and Punjabi films to keep her career going, but now that she returns to Tollywood, she has to cash in on her previous success to bag plum offers. “She is just 27 and looks pretty besides being talented. Her dialogue "Honey is the best" in F2 was remembered for long time. She needs a big hit opposite a star, to revive her winning streak,” he concludes.
