Though Shriya Saran’s role in AAA was disappointing to say the least, her Telugu film Gauthamiputra Sathakarini made amends for it. Now she is set to star as a journalist in her next film Paisa Vasool, which is being directed by Puri Jagannadh. Talking about her role, she says, “I look to reinvent myself through interesting roles and scripts. I play a journo and my character also has a backstory to it… like how she meets Balakrishna.”
She is paired opposite Balakrishna for the third time. Is she his lucky charm? She says, “It’s unfair to say that I’m a lucky charm for someone who has done more than 100 films. He is my lucky charm!”
So why did she accept a special song in Nakshatram? “It is part of the narrative and I liked the script,” she says. In Veera Bhoga Vasantharayul, Shriya will be seen as a cop for the first time. “It’s a psychological thriller. I never played a cop, so it was exciting,” she says.
