Hollywood lensman for upcoming biopic on actress Savitri, 'Mahanati'

Producer Swapna Dutt is making everything perfect for upcoming film Mahanati, based on the life story of legendary actress Savitri. The latest is that she has roped in Hollywood cameraman Dani Sanchez Lopez for this much talked about film.

Mahanati is a period film and needs a lot of technicalities as they want to show the ’50s and ’60s ambience in a grand manner.

“Dani Sanchez Lopez, a recognised visual artist who works in the photography and video art realm, made a name in directing international ads, musical videos, documentaries and art forms. He is mixing formats for the period film that crosses several decades,” says Swapna.

Turns out he is also a specialist in many technical forms including the 16mm, 35mm and Alexa with V-Lite anamorphic and Master Prime lenses. Directed by Naga Ashwin, the shooting of the film has already begun. Keerthy Suresh and Dulquer Salmaan are playing the characters of Savitri and Gemini Ganesh respectively, while the other pair is Samantha and Vijay Devarakonda.
