I will marry only after Akhil ties the knot: Naga Chaitanya

Naga Chaitanya on his younger brother's marriage, his own love life, and the biopic he wants to do.

“I can’t give you the exact date, but we are going to get married next year,” says Naga Chaitanya, referring to his impending marriage with actress Samantha, adding that his younger brother Akhil is about to get married first.

“Actually, dad (Nagarjuna) and I were shocked when Akhil announced his decision to get married. We didn’t expect him to get married at such a young age! Once he gets engaged and married, I will announce my wedding,” confirms Chaitanya.

He claims that he first informed his father of his decision. “When I told my father about Samantha, he simply laughed, and said that he is happy and that he already knew about our love story,” he says. Talking about the speculations whether his wedding will be according to the Christian and Hindu rites, he admits, “I am happy to celebrate my wedding twice — nothing wrong in it”, implying that he may choose both ways.

The actor spoke about his love life and Samantha, during the promotion of his upcoming film Premam.

Chaitanya also said that all his friends knew about their love story and the decision to continue acting in films is left to Samantha. “There are no restrictions on her. It’s completely up to her whether she wants to act in films or not after marriage,” he says.

His upcoming film Premam is all set to release this Friday. Does his real life love story help in the promotion? “I don’t like to mix my personal and professional life. Both are different and I don’t mix it,” he asserts.

Being a quiet person, Naga Chaitanya prefers his private life to remain simple. “Usually, I prefer not to clarify anything that is being talked about me, but when it goes out of limits, I reply. I am a quiet person and I also want to celebrate (my wedding) in a simple manner, but at the same time not secretively,” says the actor.

Naga Chaitanya plays three phases of life — teenager, college boy and young man — in his next film. “Both, for the roles of the teenager and young man, I have taken my own references and used in the film to up my performance,” he says. He added that the film is going to be a classic.

The actor also expressed his interest to remake Two States. “I watched the Hindi film and I liked it. I heard that somebody has already bought the remake rights for the Telugu version,” he says.

Naga Chaitanya is also interested in being part of a biopic. “If somebody asks me to choose a biopic, it would be Narain Karthikeyan, because I love racing,” says the actor.
