MAA controversy: Chiranjeevi steps in!

Eager to save the industry from further blushes, the Megastar decides to intervene between the warring sides of MAA.

The Movie Artistes Association (MAA) controversy has become the talking point in the Telugu film industry over the last couple of days, particularly the differences between the two groups — one led by General Secretary Naresh and the other by President Sivaji Raja.

Not only are the two groups at loggerheads with one another, but Chiranjeevi’s name has also been dragged into the controversy.

“On Monday, Naresh met Chiranjeevi and explained with evidence how Sivaji Raja misguided the Executive Committee about his US tour. Chiranjeevi responded positively but is upset that his name has been unnecessarily dragged into this,” says a source, adding that the Megastar is also unhappy with the way his close friend Srikanth and Sivaji Raja handled his programme in the US.

With Chiranjeevi being the founder president of MAA, the two groups have now approached the Megastar to settle the matter amicably. “Chiru wants to settle this issue as early as possible, before it becomes more embarrassing to the industry,” adds the source.
