I thought it was a dream, says KS Ravindra

K.S. Ravindra says he couldn't believe he got to direct Pawan Kalyan for SGS for his second film.

K.S. Ravindra (Bobby) was in disbelief that he got to direct Pawan Kalyan for Sardar Gabbar Singh, which is only his second film.

“Two months after my debut film Power released, I got a call from producer Sharrath Marar about Sardar Gabbar Singh. I thought that it was a dream and I couldn’t believe it till the official announcement was made,” says Bobby.

The director says that Pawan Kalyan provided the script and he adopted it. “I worked on it for nearly five months and then started shooting. We started last April and completed it now, exactly a year later,” says the director.

He meanwhile denies rumours about Pawan Kalyan’s involment in the direction department. “He provided the story, so he helped me as a writer. But he always gave me freedom as a director.

He never gets involved in the direction, and moreover our mindsets gel well,” he says, adding,“I learnt a lot from him when I travelled with him throughout the year. The first thing was how to be patient when a situation is not good. Also, I will never forgot the way Pawan Kalyan garu praises talent,” says Bobby.

He adds that Pawan Kalyan also told Chiranjeevi about him. “It’s a big compliment for me and I feel it’s a big appreciation for me.” Bobby says he first told the news to actor Ravi Teja. “He is like my brother, so I told him first.”

He adds that it was Pawan’s idea that the Hindi version of the film should release on the same day.
