Plays take centrestage at International Theatre Festival of Kerala

French play Strings, India's Dohri Zindagi among four plays.

Thrissur: On day two of the International Theatre Festival of Kerala, four plays were staged including French production ‘Strings’ and Indian plays Dohri Zindagi, Bharatha Vakyam, and Misty Mountains of Mahabharatha. ‘Strings’ which was staged at the campus of the Sangeetha Nattaka Akademi is a contemporary visual theatre play about the connection, trust, and influence one has with others. It visualizes the connection between two characters, a dancer and a violinist, as well as the whole public with a string installation, which covers the whole space.

It shows how each one of us is holding many strings of connection, but many of those strings are not always consciously taken care of. With the tools of live music, theatre, dance, and play, the director made the connection visible. On the third day of the fest on Wednesday, Indian play ‘Kaali Nadakam’ will be staged at 4.30 p.m. in K T Mohamed Theatre. The other plays to be presented on day 3 will be, ‘Talva’ at 7 p.m. at Murali Theatre, Thiyyur Rekhakl at 9 p.m. on Palace Ground. The repeat of ‘Strings’ will be held at the same venue on 7 p.m.
