Ouch was that in the script?

The freak accident and subsequent injury are no deterrent for Sharreth to move on.

He is not short of humour even when is he is writhing in pain. Most of us are familiar with the witty remarks of the renowned musician Sharreth, which raised the TRP of a popular music reality show on TV. When we called him up to know about his accident during a film shoot, Sharreth was getting ready for a concert with bandage in hand. It was a freak accident he explains, during his first attempt at acting in a movie Hadia. Sharreth knew the director Unni Pranavam as he had scored the music for his earlier movie and when he wanted him to act in a scene, he was surprised. “I don’t know anything about acting. The director insisted that I act in a song sequence for the movie. It was not for a song that I have not sung. The shooting was in Vagamon, in one of the hilly terrains. I agreed to give it a shot but who knew this would be the outcome?,” laughs Sharreth. “I was supposed to be a gypsy singing on top of a lorry. Unni said we should also take a drone shot from the top. I had closed my eyes to enact the scene when the drone hit. At first I didn’t understand what was happening. The blades of the drone bruised my body here and there and the assistant who tried to help also got injured. By the grace of Almighty, nothing major happened,” says Sharreth.

The ‘brave’ singer, after getting first aid, asked the crew to go ahead with the shoot, even though he was still in pain. “Yes, I had to. There is so much investment, and each second costs so much, I didn’t want to ruin it,” says Sharreth. The kind of dedication great artistes are made of.
