There's never a dull moment in actress Pranitha Subhash's life.

The beautiful Pranitha Subhash who is basking in the success of her latest Telugu movie Hello Guru Prema Kosame which released last week, is ‘literally’ on a mission of a different kind these days. Usually flooded with movie offers, especially in the South Indian film industry, she also runs a pub with partners in the city, and now she is working towards the upliftment of government schools in the state. She has even adopted a government school and is planning a clean and healthy environment for students with better sanitation facilities. In an exclusive interview with Bengaluru Chronicle, the actress talks about her films, her recent collaboration with the hot and immensely talented actor in Bollywood Ayushmann Khurrana for a music video sung by the actor himself, which has so far witnessed 32 million hits on YouTube.

“I just wrapped up celebrating the success of my latest Telugu movie. A popular number from the movie Pedda Pedda... has become an instant hit and the audience is loving it. I am in the process of reading scripts, and will soon reveal my next projects, including a Kannada one which I am eager to take up soon. While I was a part of the movement — Teach For Change, an NGO which focuses on training government primary and high school students in leadership skills and English language, I realised that the standard of facilities in government schools was very low. This is when I decided to do something on a personal level too,” says Pranitha Subhash.

However, she feels that since it was concerning government-run educational institutions, it was not that easy to makes contributions and work to better the situation. “When I got a call to be a part of the Save Governments School initiative as an ambassador, I happily accepted. I even adopted a government school for a small amount of Rs 5 lakh. Though which particular school is yet to be finalised upon, I will be taking care of it. I have almost zeroed in on a couple (of schools) in Hassan district,” she adds.

Pranitha also plans to focus more on sanitation issues along with other basic facilities for a clean and healthy environment for government school children.

The actress who recently featured in a music video starring alongside Bollywood sensation Ayushmann Khurrana was thrilled at the opportunity, Pranitha shares, “Indeed, it was a great experience working with the multi-talented actor and singer. The production house was in the process of getting the remake rights of a south Indian film in which I feature as the heroine. This paved the way for an opportunity into the music video Chan Kittan composed by Rochak Kohli penned by Kumaar and directed by Suresh Triveni. In fact, they had cast someone else but they made a change later, casting me. The video was shot in Gangtok. It is one of the top-viewed music videos on YouTube,” she says.

Before signing off, the actress shares that she has been juggling many things her career as an artiste, being an entrepreneur and her social activities. This has brought her much satisfaction, and she hopes to do better in the future as well.
