When it comes to movie titles, particularly the recent Kannada ones, ‘experimental’ is the way forward, literally! If some are greatly influenced by wild animals like Tiger, others are named after convicted rowdies and anti-social elements! Some are also titled as places of notorious fame, like Dandupalya, Kolara and so on.
Titles like Majestic, Kalasipalya, etc have paved the way for more city areas to come into the limelight. There are also many that go the foodie way, with Oggarane Dabbi, Pani Puri, Jilebi, Uppi Huli Khara, Yarige Idly, etc. But, now titles have literally come onto the streets. The latest film directed by Arun of the Gombegala Love fame is called Old Madras Road. He says it was apt as the subject deals with ‘some’ youngsters from North Bengaluru. The film will also star 15 Africans in special roles.
