IFFI 2023 in Goa goes digital with OTT Awards, honouring excellence in web series and films

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa, in its 54th edition, has introduced OTT Awards this year, aiming to recognize excellence in OTT series and films. The distinguished jury for the OTT awards comprises filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Krishna DK, Utpal Borpujari, along with actors Divya Dutta and Prosenjit.

Divya Dutta, a multifaceted actor, author, and poet renowned for her outstanding contributions to over 100 feature films, holds the distinction of winning the National Award for Best Supporting Actor (Female) in 2018. She continues to be a powerhouse of talent in the Indian film industry.

Expressing her joy, Divya said, “It feels great and an honour to be a part of the esteemed jury. Undoubtedly, it’s not easy, as very good shows with so much diversity has been telecast on OTT platforms. I only hope that the best one wins.”
Recognizing the transformative impact of the OTT industry in taking Indian stories to a global audience, nurturing young talent, and producing world-class content, the 54th IFFI has introduced the Best Web Series (OTT) Award. The objective is to acknowledge, encourage, and honour the burgeoning content and its creators on OTT platforms. The inaugural edition of the Best Web Series (OTT) Award at IFFI 2023 has garnered significant appreciation from the industry, receiving a total of 32 web series in 10 Indian languages from 15 OTT platforms, according to Prithul Kumar, MD of NFDC and the Festival director.
