A folk'y state of mind

The endeavour of Antarman is to collaborate and mix the folk genres of every part of the country in their vision to promote folk music.

1.Tell us about your debut album. What is it all about?
Antarman is about inner conscience that connects us through various emotions to the unaltered truth of oneness. It is the soul within us that connects us to the unconscious space of creativity through a medium.

2. How was the album conceptualized?
It was a conscious decision to work on folk from across the country. This album focuses on folk from Eastern part of India was a natural choice as Randeep, Rahul and Pooja, all belong to West Bengal. Each song was discussed deeply in terms of what it needs to convey and connect with the listeners.

3. You have infused a lot of folk music into it. Why did you think of incorporating all that in one?
The endeavour of Antarman is to collaborate and mix the folk genres of every part of the country in our vision to promote folk music. The journey would continue and we would be working on bringing folk from other parts of the country soon.

4. How did you guys come together?
Rahul, Randeep and Pooja met at a gig and then decided to Jam after that. Antarman is a result of pure love for music which connects the three of us and also we all had a common vision on working on folk music.

5. Tell us more about the music you make.
In a highly competitive industry and several good artists, it is important to create music which is clutter breaking and brings in something refreshing to the listeners.

6. How do you define your music?
Folk restated.

7. In this competitive industry, how will you stand out of all? How difficult it is to survive?
We believe there is a clear space for good music. Our music brings folk in a contemporary format which we are confident will not only connect the folk lovers as much as it would connect with the younger generation and all music lovers. We believe we have a right to succeed with this approach and are confident of reaching the hearts of our listeners.

8. What are you working on next?
We will continue to work in the classical and folk form across the country. We hope to come with our next rendition soon.
