Three men who are cronies and their tales of love, loss and betrayal. LBW which is short for Love, Break Up, War — and nothing really to do with the gentleman’s game —- is a freshers’ filmy outing that sticks to the formula and brews a romantic concoction with dated ingredients in a three-pronged love story. Akash Menon and Sheena Mathew make couple one. The second pair is Sajeevan and Asha. And finally, the flirtatious Roy and his ‘n’ number of girl friends under the common tag ‘Ammu’.
While Akash and Sajeevan slip into the break-up trauma and its aftermath, Roy, the rolling stone, is committed to none and leads life as cool as a cucumber.
For couple one, love blooms in predictable high school fashion. The boy tails a girl, tries ways to woo her, she rejects him initially. He disappears for a week, she longs for his company, he comes back, the one-sided love gets reciprocated.
Sajeevan is an eligible loner past his prime. Asha, a young trainee, behaves affectionately to the team lead but rejects his overtures. His persistence comes to naught as the girl gets married to a boy of her parents’ choice. Roy on the other hand moves from Ammu 1 to 2, 3 and so on.
Post heartbreak (for the first two) and a twist for the third, there remain three loose ends. A filmmaker and his buddy arrive to help resolve things. The shaky foundation of the plot and dialogues aside, the debut actors have done justice to their roles.
