Malayalam actress abduction: SIT asked to list out evidences

Earlier, the prosecution reiterated before the court that it cannot provide the visuals and certain key evidences to Dileep.

Kochi: The Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Tuesday directed the Special investigation Team (SIT) to handover Dileep, eighth accused in the actor abduction case, only copies of those documents and evidences that it intends to submit during trial of the case. The court directed the SIT to list out all such evidences and to submit the same to the court along with a written affidavit to bring out clarity. It was considering a plea by Dileep seeking a copy of all evidences including the visuals of alleged sexual assault on the victim.

Earlier, the prosecution reiterated before the court that it cannot provide the visuals and certain key evidences to Dileep. It, however, said the opposition can go through such evidences in the presence of the court. The opposition on the other hand charged SIT with law violation for deliberately denying it certain copies of evidences submitted along with the chargesheet.

The court, meanwhile, lashed out at both the prosecution and the opposition for delaying the case trial by submitting new requests from time to time. This, it said, while the police requested the court nod for permission to probe the “revelations” made by second accused Martin Joseph. The latter had claimed threat to his life from a female actor and another senior actor from the Malayalam film industry. Further hearing will continue on Wednesday.
