Action heroine Ahaana Krishnakumar

After her film debut two years ago, Ahaana is back with an action-oriented music video by Jagan Shaji Kailas.

It has been around two years since her debut film Njan Steve Lopez reached screens. Though that film managed to receive good comments from critics and film buffs, Ahaana Krishnakumar, who essayed the lady lead in the movie, was not seen later in any films. Now ending her hiatus, the actress is gearing up to come in front of the camera with a music video named Kari directed by Jagan, son of noted filmmaker Shaji Kailas.

Ahaana is the daughter of actor Krishna Kumar. “I have known him since we were both children. We are family friends. We used to meet at the birthday parties of our family members and friends. It was during such a friendly talk that Jagan told me about this music video, which was in an initial stage then,” Ahaana says about her come back.

The actress adds, “I am a person who used to think a lot. I cannot take a decision within seconds. First I think for a long time, and then discuss it with my father and then mother. But when Kari came, I did not go for such a long process. I was almost sure when Jagan discussed this project. Later, my parents also backed me. One of the main attractions of this project is its theme — a complete action-oriented music video.” The music is composed by the band Masala Coffee.

The filmmaker had organised rehearsal camps for a week before they started shooting. “I was comfortable though I was facing a movie camera after two years. I was a viscom student and used to act in the graduate films of my classmates. More than that, I could sync with the whole crew as we had rehearsal sessions for one week in Thiruvananthapuram. Editor Mithun Murali is the stunt choreographer of Kari. I used to film the practice sessions using gadgets and showed to my father. As he has experience in acting in stunt scenes, he too gave me some tips,” she says.

About her gap and new film, she says “Post Steve Lopez, I became busy with studies. As I was a studious person, I gave more importance to my classes. Now I have committed a film in Malayalam, which will start rolling soon. As of now, I cannot divulge further details.”
