Our family does not wish for Rajinikanth to be in politics. He will never venture into politics and will continue to act in films,” remarked Rajini’s older brother, Satyanarayana Rao Gaikwad, at a recent meet. On several occasions, the Baashha star has been evasive with his reply to queries on whether he would enter politics. In his inimitable style and smile, he would simply point his fingers towards the sky, meaning to say that ‘If God wishes so’ or ‘God only knows’.
Recently, Rajinikanth’s brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaikwad was spotted with his family, at the Ramnatha Swami Temple at Rameshwaram performing a special pooja. They were greeted by the temple authorities. Reportedly, he paid Rs 25,000 for the special kalasa pooja for Lord Kasi Viswanathar with 1,000 silver coins.
Post the rituals, he interacted with the press and others gathered there, explaining, “I did this kalasa pooja for the speedy recovery and wellbeing of Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, for a solution to the Cauvery issue and for Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to co-exist in peace.”
When asked if his brother Rajinikanth would try his hand at politics, he retorted, “Rajinikanth will never ever foray into politics. My family and I are not supportive of it. He is currently busy shooting for 2.0, and will continue acting in films.”...
