The premise of the upcoming film Vinveli Payana Kuripugal sounds interesting, which is being helmed by debutant director Jayaprakash. An over enthusiastic youngster from a semi-urban town aspires to go on a space tour and the struggles he faces to get there is what the films is all about, says Jayaprakash.

The director, who has studied animation technology, has not worked as an assistant under anyone, but sounds confident about the upcoming sci-fi film — “The hero is someone, who is over enthusiastic about things. These kind of people are popularly known as aarva kolaaru. He has a political influence too. Due to his attitude, people around him suffer terribly. And he somehow gets to know about an agency, which sends people on a tour to space. And naturally, he wants to be on it. Whether he makes it to space or not is what Vinveli Payana Kuripugal is about,” he says.

“The film has debutant actor Athvik Jalandar, who has studied mass communication from UK. He is also a student of ‘Balu Mahendra Cinema Pattarai’. So, he has done really well in the film. We don’t have a heroine of sorts, but there is one girl with whom our hero is romantically involved,” he reveals.

Talking about how he got the idea for the film, Prakash states, “There is this aerospace company called SpaceX, which has already suggested a space tour program. We have based the film around it. The film’s promotion will start by the end of September since we still have little portion to shoot.”
