Sarkunam, whose previous directorial venture was Chandi Veeran, is back with another ambitious project with Madhavan playing the lead. The shoot of this yet-untitled film will start sometime in October. Speaking to DC, Sarkunam says, “This film will have authentic native flavour. In other words, it is a commercial entertainer that will attract children and family audiences.” When quizzed on why he chose Madhavan as the lead, he muses, “I worked on this script for eight months, and when it came to casting, I thought Madhavan would suit the role and it will also be a different experience for him as he doesn’t do village films often.”
Sarkunam also reveals that Madhavan will have a slight makeover for the flick — a change in his hairstyle. “The first schedule of the movie will kickstart in Thailand, which will be followed by schedules in Nepal, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu,” he adds. Sarkunam further states that the supporting cast will be finalised in another ten days. According to rumours, there is a possibility of Jackie Shroff joining the team. However, the official confirmation on his inclusion is still awaited. Music director Ghibran and Irudhi Suttru editor Sathish Suriya have been roped in for the movie.
