On Friday, actor Suriya surprised veteran comedian, Senthil, on his 66th birthday on the sets of Thaana Serndha Koottam. The special cake was in the shape of bananas, with the wishes ‘Happy birthday to the legend Senthil sir!’.
It was indeed thoughtful of Suriya to the custom made cake, referring to the evergreen enjoyable ‘vazha pazham’ (banana) comedy scene of Senthil from the blockbuster film, Karakattakaran.
Youreka gets Chevalier award
Director Youreka, known for his films like Madurai Sambavam, Thoppi, Sivappu Enakku Pidikkum and several literary works in Tamil has been bestowed with the Chevalier Award recently.
“The Chevalier Award given by the French government is an honorary one — whereas the one I received is from the initiative Knight of Malta, Jerusalem which has been functioning for the last 960 years. It is being given in recognition of someone’s work and contribution. I have been writing for the last 32 years and I am happy that I am the first Tamilian to have received this award,” he says.
