As reported earlier by DC, Disha Patani, who works in Bollywood and Tollywood, is the new Sangamithra.
After Shruti walked out, many heroines were considered for the titular role of period film, which will be directed by Sundar C. While Arya and Jayam Ravi will be essaying the male leads in the movie as warrior princes, A.R. Rahman was brought on board for composing the music.
Iconic production designer Sabu Cyril is in charge of the sets of the film, which is set in 8th century AD.
Now, Hema Rukmani of Thenandal Films, who is bankrolling the big budget project, took to social media to announce that Disha is debuting in Tamil with Sangamithra. Khushbu Sundar has also tweeted, “We introduce Disha Patani as our beautiful princess Sangamithra. Shoot to start soon.”(sic) An excited Disha has also posted, “Can’t wait to start shooting for this exciting film.”(sic)
