Gayathri, who acted in SAC’s Touring Talkies replaces Meenakshi in the upcoming flick Villangam, which has actor Nandha in the lead. According to the filmmakers, Meenakshi behaved unprofessionally — walking out of the movie without informing the unit, and not turning up to shoots after a considerable amount had been canned. Upset with the financial losses incurred by her, the producer has lodged a complaint against Meenakshi with the Producers’ Council. Ra Na Saravanan who directs the movie claims that he has handled a sensitive theme.
“In our society, a man has to prove his innocence even when a woman commits the mistake. Why this disparity? It revolves around the thesis that if two children are born to a couple, they should not be allowed by the court to divorce.”
Bharadwaj has made a comeback after a long gap and scored music for the film. Sonia Agarwal is also a part of the movie.
