JFW Awards 2016: Celebrating success

The eighth edition of JFW Awards will be held in the city on Thursday.

Way back in 2008, JFW Awards was initiated as a way to appreciate and celebrate the success of women from various fields such as sports, music, cinema, social work and more. The magazine has always recognised women who have made a fundamental difference in their chosen field by way of their sheer talent. Now, in its eighth year, the JFW Awards is a long-standing tradition of honouring and applauding the winning spirit in every woman.

Speaking about the JFW Awards 2016, to be held in the city, Bina Sujit, Editor-in-chief of JFW, says, “We choose our awardees every year with a lot of care, and this year too, we have a very distinguished line-up of women achiever. It’s a celebration of their success. We have people from different fields like Trisha, Taapsee Pannu, Brinda Master, Anu Vardhan, Sunitha Krishnan, Mithali Raj, PV Sindhu, Priya Ravichandran and Sudha Raghunandan. We make sure that everybody is distinguished in their own field and has a compelling achievement. We are looking forward to the award night.”

Apart from that, they also have a very interesting and prominent line-up of celebrities who will attend the event to present the awards to honour the achiever. “That is yet another exciting part — we have a very interesting line of people coming to present the award. Amala Akkineni will be flying down from Hyderabad. Venkat Prabhu and his team of boys from Chennai 28 also will also be there!”
