I cut my hair to donate to a company that makes wigs for cancer patient — and not out of mental depression or head surgery treatment as rumored by many,” stated actress Oviya, the favourite contestant of the reality show Bigg Boss, weeks after she was eliminated from the show.
Though she earned name and fame through her films, the kind of support and respect Oviya owned through her long stint in the show was unbelievable. In a video message, the actress also stated, “I was surprised and overwhelmed that I got this much love and affection from the people.” She confirmed that she would not be returning to the show, as speculated by many. “But I will continue my movie career and I am focusing more on that,” she asserted.
She added quickly, “You don’t have to necessarily watch the movies just because I acted in them. You can thrash it if you find it a dud!” Requesting people, she added, “Do not target Julie and Shakti,” the two contestants who were recently evicted, as they were the ones who were considered to be cornering Oviya while on the show. “To err is human and I’m no different. I’m not perfect either. So please don’t look at me as your role model,” she said.
Oviya also rubbished the rumour that her haircut was for a medical treatment for depression. She explained, “I donated the hair to a company which produces wigs for cancer patients, who have lost their hair for treatment.” After all, the svelte actress lost her mother to cancer. Coming to the topic of her fellow Bigg Boss contestant Aarav, she clarified that her love was true, and that she’s confident of its success soon! Well, only time will tell how this plays out.
