Director Vijay, who is awaiting the release of Vanamagan, a forest thriller, is now working on his next project, titled Karu. We had earlier reported that he had roped in actress Sai Pallavi for this crime-thriller produced by Lyca Productions.

The latest update is that the film will be made as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and Vijay has chosen a Telugu actor to play the titular role. A source in the know tells us, “Telugu actor Naga Shourya has been signed on as the hero for this venture. With this film, he will be making his debut in Tamil. Having bagged director Vijay’s film, Naga Shourya is confident that he will be able to make a mark in Tamil as well.”

Since Vanmagan’s release has been postponed to June, director Vijay is concentrating on giving final touches to his script. It is said that the shooting of Karu (untitled in Telugu) will begin only after Vanamagan releases.
