There has been a lot of buzz about who will play the lead actress in Ranjith’s next film with Rajinikanth. While Vidya Balan has been finalised, the Kabali director dismissed rumours that Deepika Padukone may play the female lead in the film. Now, an interesting development reveals that veteran star Khushbu is among the actresses who are being considered to play Rajini’s pair in the film.
A source tells DC, “While Vidya Balan has been brought on board, Khushbu is one of the actresses who the team is looking to bring on board as Rajini’s pair. Two other actresses from the 90s are also being considered.”
The film, produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films will be set in Mumbai. Although, the source adds that the portions with Rajini will most likely be shot at sets made in Chennai. The pre-production work of the film is in full swing, and is expected to go on floors in May.
Khushbu has only made cameo appearances in films for quite a few years now, owing to her political career. She is currently working as one of the leads in James Vasanthan’s Oh Andha Naatkal along with Radikaa Sarathkumar, Suhasini and Urvashi.
